Roads outside the city without a barrier: 80 km/h.
Roads outside the city with a barrier: 90 km/h.

Tiberias is a major city that lies on the Kineret (Sea of Galilee) shore. It is
a holy city and there are many archeological sites spread out on the city and its
surroundings.
Tiberias is in the second lowest place on earth (after the Dead Sea) with an altitude
of minus 212 meters below sea level.
Parking
There are Blue and white curbstones in the city center, parking along these curbstones
is being done by pay-and-display vouchers that can be acquire on street machines,
there are parking lots next to archeological sites, most of them are free of charge.
Road conditions
Tiberias east side is built on a hill, driving toward the city center will be a
stiff down hill road.
There is a road around Kineret shore line, its length is about 60 kilometers.
Please remember to drive on the right and pass on the left.

Seatbelts are compulsory front and rear. Children under 14 years old are not allowed to sit in the front.
It is illegal to speak with a mobile phone without a "hands free" device.
For any car rental in Tiberias, you must carry your driving license at all times, as well as your Avis insurance and rental details. Check with your agent about the need of an international driving license.
When picking up/returning a car from/to Ben-Gurion airport, there is a handling fee of $27. Tourists and non-Israeli citizens don’t pay VAT which is 17%.
There is a toll road named "highway 6" that stretches out from the north (Ein-Tut junction between Zichron-Yaakov and Yokneam) to the south (Maachaz junction near Beer-Sheva). Payment is made automatically via a car license scanner and the bill is sent to the driver by mail or car rental company.
